8 goals for june

I’m linking up again for Tuesday Topics, and this week is about making goals. Some of these goals might seem a bit easy, but it’s better to have a small, manageable goal than a big-intimidating-monster of a goal. So here goes, in no particular order:

1. Do at least one strength-training or ab workout per week. I am so diligent when it comes to running, but I can’t even tell you the last time I lifted weights or worked my core. Even once a week is better than never!

2. Read a book. I’m always reading articles or blogs on the internet… but it’s been awhile since I finished an entire book.

3. Be more patient. This mostly refers to being patient with myself. I’m trying to balance being a wife, having a newly-mobile baby, training a puppy, keeping the house clean, photography, church service, etc… and it can be easy to become frustrated with myself for not always knowing how to handle certain situations or even just balance my time._MG_6217

4. Plan at least one real date. We are too good at just watching a movie and eating ice cream and counting that as a date on most weekends.

5. Read the scriptures earlier in the day. I read every single day, but sometimes I put it off until the end of the night, and by that time, my brain is too tired to get much out of it.

6. Declutter. I know we both have clothes in the closet that we can donate, and papers that can be recycled or filed away.

7. Go to bed earlier. This goal is probably the one I am most likely to fail at. We have always had this awful habit of staying up until we just can’t stay awake. Going to bed at midnight when you have a baby just doesn’t cut it anymore. If I can get in bed before 11 pm, I’ll call it a success, but I’d really like to be asleep by 10:30.

8. Practice piano for 30 minutes per week. I’ve started learning to play, and then stopped, and started, and stopped. I just need to try a little more.
