photo-a-day for may (7-12)

Day 7 (something beginning with F): First Mother’s Day card- from my mom! đŸ™‚IMG_20130507_184740

Day 8 (shape): Hearts, stars, and horseshoes (hopefully I’m not the only one who remembers this commercial from childhood)! I have been pretty obsessed with Lucky Charms lately, so it was only fitting to use them as my “shape” photo.IMG_20130508_164814

Day 9 (a snack): A chocolate-chip muffin (my other obsession)!IMG_20130509_193011

Day 10 (stars): See that green toy at Kaya’s feet? Yep, I’m counting that for my “star” photo. Although, Kaya is kind of the star of our lives right now, so she could count too!_MG_5644

Day 11 (a smile): Technically I cheated and took this on day 10… but it was just too good to not use!_MG_5672

Day 12 (a mother): Sometimes, I still can’t believe I’m a mom… (probably because I still feel like a kid disguised in an adult body)! But I am so thankful for this little sweetheart and that I get to be her mommy._MG_5736

friday favorites

Happy Friday everyone! We had a fantastic week filled with beautiful spring weather, which meant that this little sweetie and I got to enjoy sitting out on the porch for a bit (and aren’t these just the cutest jammies? I’m loving her spring wardrobe!)

Dressing her in two-piece pajamas makes her seem like such a big girl.

But big girls get piggy-back rides (her first one ever!), so I think she’s pretty happy about it.
_MG_3958We’ve been giving her a sippy cup (full of water), and she doesn’t actually drink out of it, but it’s one of her new favorite toys (right along with her orange kitty)!
_MG_3896Love those CHEEKS! I also love the new hair growth that’s becoming a lot more noticeable._MG_3996

Baby Bird abhors baths, but cuddles with daddy afterward make it a little better.IMG_20130407_134235 I did my sales/coupon shopping today, and I think I saved the most I ever have in one trip. Spent $64.95, and “saved” $81.73. I ended up with 15 boxes of cereal, free Pampers wipes, hot dogs, hand soap, 4 cartons of ice cream, and some other items. I don’t think we need to buy cereal for awhile…IMG_20130412_143820

The blog also had a mini-makeover this week. I always love changing how it looks when spring rolls around! (Michael and I joke that we have “N.E.R.D.S.” (Never-Ending ReDesigning Syndrome). The condition is fake, but it’s pretty true for both of us when it comes to how our websites look!blogmakeover042013Hope you enjoyed my random favorites from this week! Happy weekend! đŸ™‚

a day off

At work yesterday, we finished everything we needed to do for the whole week. Which means I had today off! So I relaxed, did laundry, and cleaned my guinea pig cage. Day off = housewife duties. I guess.

Anyway, I had enough time this morning to muse over the finer things in life. Like, does anyone actually eat anything besides the marshmallows in a box of Lucky Charms?

Yeah… that's why this is Michael's cereal, and not mine! Though as a kid, I do remember forcing down all the 'yucky bits' just to get to the good part. What a tough little kid I once was.

Today poor Juni became my "guinea pig" (haha) and had to model for me while I messed around with the new camera. I love it, but I'm still getting used to it.
