My mom came up to visit this weekend, and stayed from Thursday until Sunday morning. She hasn’t been here for awhile, and it’s been a couple months since she last saw Kaya, so she was definitely excited to spend time with her grandbaby!

We kicked off the long weekend by meeting Karl’s girlfriend, Amber! We had a great time laughing and playing Mario Kart. I’ve never been great at video games, but somehow I raced worse than I probably ever have. Oops.

Kaya seriously LOVES her Uncle Karl. Two peas in a pod! Grandma even helped Kaya ride her rocking horse for the first time ever! She loved it so much that later on, she even crawled all the way up to it on her own!

We were really hoping for some nice weather so we could all go and enjoy the pool. Sadly, most of the weekend was dreary and just a little too chilly for swimming. When it finally seemed like the rain was subsiding, we went out for a walk… only to get wet about half a mile in! It was still fun to get outside.

(Kaya thought it was hilarious if I walked in front of the stroller!)

Jax and my mom became instant buddies! He must know that she has a Border Collie mix, too.

Kaya had some fun on the swings, and we enjoyed a little too much Dairy Queen, twizzlers, Dunkin Donuts, and cookie bars. We also did a little sale shopping at The Children’s Place and had dinner at Macado’s one night.
